The national leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated the young erudite Professor Afonja Rapheal on his recent appointment as the Commissioner of Works, Oyo State. The leadership also salute the leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon Mukikat for giving the young ones opportunities to take mantle of leadership.
In his statement made available to the media on Friday, the Public Relations Officer of the association, Comrade Adeyemi Azeez, after his meeting with the commissioners friend headed by Honourable Ojo Abolade a.k.a BOLO a former SUG President of LAUTECH, the NANS PRO said that youth involvement in governance is only panacea to sustain development in Nigeria and curb social insecurity in Nigeria. He applauded Hon. Afonja for standing up as a symbol of good youth leader who has achieved early academic wise and political.
The leadership also salute the seasoning Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Hon. Mrs Mulikat Adeola (OFR) for recognising the vibrant youths and include them in key positions of governance. In his statement he charge the Honourable Commissioner to be a good ambassador as the future is bright.” Seeing something farther is by standing on the shoulders of those that have gone ahead of you” we urge our Commissioner to stand firm on the shoulders of his leader.
