The Nigeria Police has alleged that some saboteurs within various security agencies across the country are working towards prolonging the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, the Cable reports.

The police public relations officer for zone 2 command, Dolapo Badmus, on Thursday, August 22, while reacting to the killings of three police officers and a civilian by some soldiers of the Nigerian Army in Taraba state said these saboteurs are only focused on their personal gains from the insurgency.

Also cursing those engaged in such, the zone 2 police command spokesperson said that a criminal who was painstakingly arrested by operatives will be made to escape is unfortunate.

She added that the escape is not only unfortunate but that five lives (3 of the police and 2 of their informants) were allegedly wasted under the supervision and directives of a superior officer of other security agencies.

Describing the situation as baffling and incomprehensible, Badmus said every security personnel working against bringing sanity to the country will die a sudden death.

“When we continue to think about insurgencies and reason why it has refused to end, this if not the only, is the reason why it could or would not end! PURE SABOTAGE! While some operatives are working tirelessly to end kidnapping, robbery and terrorism, some are busy sabotaging their efforts just because of material gains,” Badmus said.

Further commending the Nigeria Police and its operatives on the ongoing investigation of the Taraba incident, Badmus said, the revelation of the process will be startling.
