– Tsavwua Gborigyo, a provost of a college of education in Benue state, has been abducted

– Gbogrigyo was allegedly kidnapped at Ihugh in Vandiekya on his way back from a burial.

– The abductors are yet to make any demands or contact the relatives of the victim

The Benue Police Command said on Monday, August 22, that gunmen have kidnapped the provost of College of Education, Katsina Ala, Tsavwua Gborigyo.

The State Police Public Relations Office, DSP Catherine Anene, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi that the provost was abducted during the weekend.

Anene disclosed that the provost was kidnapped at Ihugh in Vandiekya on his way back from a burial.

She said no contact had been established yet with the kidnappers and appealed to the public to assist with any information that would lead to the rescue of the provost.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a resident pastor of the Living Faith Church in Kaduna identified as Jeremiah Omolara was killed by kidnappers and his wife abducted.

The pastor, his wife and his son were said to have been attacked along Kaduna-Abuja highway on Sunday, August 4.

The gunmen opened fire on their vehicle, killing the pastor on the spot before taking his wife into the bush, while the son escaped.

The abductors had contacted the family of the victim to demand a ransom of N50 million.
