Lawmaker advocates for political liberties and empowerment for Nigerian Youth


It was a watershed moment at the prestigious Yaradua Center, Abuja at the program organized by the Youth wing Of the All Progressives Congress Of Nigeria, the event which was well attended by avalanche of political Juggernauts and Career technocrats across the length and breadth of the country lived well up to its purpose

The keynote address delivered by the Chairman house committee on Youth development Hon Yemi Adaramodu who represented the Honourable Speaker Of the House Of Representatives was concise and unambiguous in content.

While speaking at the power packed event, the lawmaker noted that while previous government’s haphazard and inconsistent policies have contributed in no small measures to the present predicaments facing the Nigerian youth, he however admonished youths to trace their steps back to their constituency armed with their voters card to effect meaningful and positive changes instead of jostling for meagre and inconsequential attention from politicians, this as he stated was to take full advantage of the recently passed and approved legislation of “Not Too Young To Run” bill of the 8th Assembly,

he said Nigerian youth are now so lucky to have the person of Hon Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House Of Representatives as the Speaker has on numerous occasion showed and spoke about his willingness to tap into the productive and unexploited potentials of the Nigerian youth and he is well poised to deliver on so many life changing programs and legislation for the youth which he hopes will herald a new and prosperous time for the nation in no distant time.

He also charged political office holders to make themselves available and accessible to constituent particularly the youth by engaging and interacting on a periodic basis to find lasting and effective solutions to perennial and peculiar problems inherent in there respective communities.

He opined further that the current 9th Assembly Of the Nation is equally resolved to make resounding legislation aimed at bolstering liberties for youth and provide a capacity building initiatives in furtherance of the Next Level agenda Of President Muhammad Buhari and added that agencies of Government charged with the mandate of providing succour and empowerment to youth should strive more in driving home the agenda of the government to the doorsteps of intended beneficiaries and reduce the bureaucratic difficulties that may hinder or discourage participation and make assessing of these laudable programs hitch free.

He also enjoined the youth to take full advantage of the wealth of experience and the kindheartedness of the Minister For Youth And Sport Hon. Sunday Dare towards youth In assessing Government’s programs and ultimately enjoying the dividends of democracy.

The Attorney General Of the Federation Mr Malami who was full of praise for the organizers for taking the initiative to bring up a program as all encompassing as these at a crucial time in the annals of history of the Nation, he however said heaven help those who help themselves and urged youth to speak up and show interest for what they believed in and promised that the government will be more than willing to meet their aspirations and yearnings. Also at the event was Representative of Kebbi State Governor and one time African footballer of the year and Super Eagles Skipper Daniel Amokachi a.k.a The Bull, the deputy national youth leader of the APC Hon Afeez Mobolaji Repete who was host to the dignitaries present and many more important personalities.
